creative log for a2 courswork 2

I am inspired by a lot of stop motion animated films for this project namely 'Vincent' directed by Tim Burton, 'Coraline' directed by Henry Selik and 'the sandman' directed by Paul Berry. in terms of aesthetics and atmosphere I am also very inspired by 'the shining' directed by Stanley Kubrick and 'eraserhead' directed by David Lynch as well as the survival horror game 'silent hill 2' for its atmosphere, method of storytelling, cinematics and soundtrack. I am also considering using a monochromatic blue and grey colour pallet but contrast it with bright reds and pastel colours because I feel as though films in the horror genre are often quite colourless to fit with the atmosphere and serious tone of the film. however, I personally also feel that this makes most modern horror films look similarly bland and generic in its art direction and I would rather break the rules rather than follow an ultimately uninspired trend to fit with genre convention. 
I have been partly inspired to use a colourful  pallet in a horror film by the film 'the neon demon' directed by Nicolas Winding Refn which had very unique art direction and cinematography.
I have thought about using music from the album 'an empty bliss beyond this world' by the caretaker because I think it would be a perfect fit for the theme and atmosphere I want to achieve and it would almost be necessary  to use
